​Curtis is an Oregon native who was exposed to music early on and studied guitar for years, which led him to becoming a member of the band “The Country Twilights”, followed by several other bands that he would go on to create and build throughout the pacific northwest.

As a child, his stage presence and persistence led him to be a winner of the Portland battle of the bands where he gained the opportunity to connect with an instant following in his home city. ​Curtis James music connects to audiences of all backgrounds and genres. His musical gift allows him to be free with his creativity while pulling the crowd in with the classic tunes they know and love. ​His diversity of songs, genres, and artists that he showcases in his performance allow him to have a broad appeal.
